Harmony
One of the many great unrecognized local groups of the 70s and early 80s, this duo wrote and performed an excellent compilation of tunes filled with energy and passion. From the environmentally aware "Green Goddess" that spoke of the changing landscape of Hawaii to the youthful ballad, "Season Rain", their music is diverse as it is original. It is contemporary Hawaiian blended with jazz and spanish influences. Suttle, yet moving.
Their sound was unique but so much a part of the generation of Contemporary Hawaiian Renaissance artists of the time. If you've ever visited the Waikiki White Sands Resort, you may have caught a glimpse of their performances. Sadly, there are no commercial recordings and the few live demos are rare.

What's Up Doc?
The healing arts are full of mystery. But what it really comes down to is how well your body is attuned with the world you live in. If you've been feelin' ill and already tried your local physician, go see the Doc!

Fight Club!
Everybody was kung-foo-fai-teeng! I saw them on TV a couple times and thought I'd drop a blog on em. Been a long time since we rapped - probably more than a couple Christmas parties ago. Looks like Chris & Mike are still going strong with Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu though. Good job guys!
Local Jams
Here's a band that infuses Hawaiian, Reggae, Jawaiian, and Rock into their playing style. Hulili is a five man band consisting of Mike on the uke, Richard on bass, Ryan on guitar, Jonah on uke, and Herman on drums. Everyone except bruddah Herman sings lead. Eh, when you going sing??? :P
While they have a great set list I prefer their original work. "Feel So Good" and "Jacuzzi Water" are my favorites!!! They don't have a website yet so I'll grab some pix and post for them.
If you're in the market for some good entertainment, check em out!

Surf Shop
I've never been much of a water fanatic. Actually my FEAR came from the near drownings I encountered in my youth. When I was a kid my bros tried to teach me to surf but almost ended up drowning me. That was probably what started the ball rolling... down hill.
But that's just my experience. We're surrounded by water over here and the surf biz seems to be booming with the great influx of toureye. If you like surfing or are interested in getting a board, check out Jon's site.

Kauai Luau
If you're on Kauai and looking for some great Hawaiian entertainment, go check out the luau at Luau Hawaii. It's a family owned business that goes way back as far as I can remember. Come to think of it... I personally have never been to one. Eh, invite me!!!!
